“Train up the children in the way they should go, and when they grow old, they will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
Our Children’s Ministry encourages exploration, development of faith, and discipleship for all Birth through 6th grade. We have three specific ministry areas to serve the spiritual needs of our children. We love to have fun, and we love Jesus!
NURSERY CARE — Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., back right corner of the Sanctuary Building
Our nursery is fully staffed for every worship service and Sunday school. Ms. Kim Hemund is our nursery director and has a strong background in education. She is joined by a several volunteers who assist each week. Age appropriate activities are enjoyed by the children. For more information, email@example.com.
CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL — Pre-K through 3rd grade — Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m., left wing of the Education Building
Our curriculum used for Sunday School is published by the United Methodist Publishing House and is called Deep Blue. For more information, contact Christi Crawford, our Minister to Youth, Children, and Families at firstname.lastname@example.org
(See “LINK” page for information about our special ministry to 4th, 5th, and 6th graders)
LINK is a set apart ministry for our middle school/upper elementary age group. This age can be a challenging time of many transitions. Our desire is to create a sacred and safe space for our LINK kids to explore their faith on a deeper level while sharing with their peers. We have a lot of fun outings and activities in addition to Sunday school and Sunday evenings. For more information, email@example.com.
KID’S CONNEXION — Sunday mornings during last half of 9:00 a.m. contemporary service
At Cornerstone, we believe it is important for children to be able to attend church in the larger congregation. We also understand that they have a need to experience worship on their level.
Children at the 9:00 service sit with their families until after the children’s sermon. At that time, those in grades pre-k through 3rd grade are dismissed to the Cloud Room (in the Education Building).
While in Kids ConneXion, children usually hear the same Bible story the congregation is hearing, except in ways that are especially designed to teach children. On Communion Sundays (first Sunday of each month), children will remain with their families for the whole service.
Wednesdat Night Live provides an opportunity for our children to learn about God, but with a focus on growing in our faith. We serve a light supper at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for everyone – Children, LINK, and youth.
Following supper, children share a brief lesson, play games, sing, and make a project all centered around our theme for the night.
