Stewardship:  A Way of Life

“…Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.” — Matthew 5: 44

As Christians we share together in what it means to live generously.  Stewardship is a matter of the heart. Proper stewardship is a spiritual matter. And it is holistic to life…

When our members join Cornerstone United Methodist Church, this question is asked:  “Will you be loyal to The United Methodist Church, and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service and your witness?”

Prayers

Do you seek God’s blessing for our Cornerstone community of faith in your prayers? Do you ask for guidance in your daily walk and seek God’s direction for your life? Do you pray for those you know as well as those who have yet to enter your life?

Presence
Do you attend worship on a weekly basis unless you are sick or out of town? Are you plugged into a Sunday School class or small group where you can be present and grow in your spiritual formation with Christ?

Gifts
Are you tithing or working towards the tithe in giving to Cornerstone’s annual budgetary needs for ministry? Are you striving to reach beyond the tithe in your other gifts and offerings?

Service
Do you use your spiritual gifts and your life experience to serve others in the church, community and world? Does your personal use of time reflect this commitment?

Witness
Do you share your personal witness with others? Do you invite them to worship and other activities to expose them to the life changing  experience of Jesus Christ?

We are the family of God…

Since the day Cornerstone was created our church has been built upon a very clear vision. Using God’s Word as our guide, every service, program, event and ministry has been designed to build upon that vision.

At Cornerstone our vision is to be a community of faith making disciples for the transformation of the world. Our mission as we understand it is to strive to be the hands and feet of Christ through:

  • WIN – reaching out locally and to the world to show others the love of Jesus and make them feel welcome as part of the family.
  • DISCIPLE – encouraging others to grow in the faith and discover a personal relationship with Jesus.
  • SERVE – to answer the call that Jesus has on all our lives by faith-fully using our spiritual gifts and talents

It is about Changed Lives…
At Cornerstone lives are being changed and growth is occurring…

…through praise & Worship
Lives have been changed through the heartfelt music, gripping personal testimonies and clear biblical teaching of our worship services.  “Magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt his name together.” Psalms. 34:3

…through fellowship
Cornerstone is an extended family, offering love, acceptance, hope and help to all.  “You are a member of God’s very own family and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.” Ephesians 2:19 (LB)

…through teaching
Cornerstone is growing Christ-like disciples and strong families through the practical application of God’s word.  “…Building up the Church, the body of Christ, to a position of strength and maturity… Until everyone becomes full grown in the Lord.“  Ephesians 4:12-13

…through mission & outreach
As long as there is one person who doesn’t know Jesus Christ, Cornerstone will continue to reach out letting people know that God loves them and we love them.

Generous Living: Stewardship is every thing you do after you say YES to Jesus Christ
