As was announced this past week, our current Senior Pastor, the Rev. Chris Hemund, has been appointed to serve as the next Senior Pastor of Village United Methodist Church, located in Hot Springs Village, effective July 1, 2017.

Chris and his family have been with us for five years, and we are grateful for his effective leadership to CUMC.  We are going to miss their presence within our church family.  As they prepare to move in the coming months, our love and prayers will be with them!

In every season of Methodism, God is good to us!  We are so pleased to announce the appointment of our new Senior Pastor, also effective July 1, 2017, the Rev. Kathleen McMurray, currently Associate Pastor at Grace UMC in Conway, Arkansas.

You are welcome to give Rev. McMurray a full and sincere Cornerstone welcome most anytime by email at kathleen.mcmurray@arumc.org!

She is very highly recommended to us as a dynamic, exciting, and spirit-filled young pastor.  She is a graduate of Parkview High School in Little Rock,  earned her undergraduate degree from LSU (she has already been warned that she will need to tone down her cheering for the LSU Tigers), and received her Master of Divinity degree from the United Methodist-related Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois.  We are looking forward to her leadership and pastoral care!

I know that you will join me and the rest of the SPRC in wishing Pastor Chris well in his new assignment in Hot Springs Village, and in graciously welcoming Rev. McMurray to Cornerstone.
